Munro #3 of the weekend near Dalwhinnie.

Again another day of reasonably strong winds high up, blowing us up and then we faced a nice battering from the wind on the way down. We just took it reasonably easy today, and I resisted the temptation to run away.

Overall, a great weekend, but most certainly Type 2 enjoyment on the whole. Shame about the wind, the Fannichs will have to wait till August.

"LAMM" continued with Sarah.......

really high winds forecast high up (and in the glens) so munro bagging was replaced with a tour round two lochs. Thought we'd be reasonably sheltered from the Westerly given the NW-SE orientation of the first Loch and a mountain to the west but was an absolute battle for 10km through the wind.

Really not that pleasant, and then we nearly got knocked over by a digger who swerved his bucket round right when Sarah and I were walking past (no other sensible route round him as he was blocking the road track). Sarah pretty demoralised from half way round, but had a nice plod by the second loch with a tailwind before a grim batter back through the wind to the car. Saw lots of beautiful nice remote houses on the way round, and not a single walker.

Followed by lots of food.

"LAMM" weekend in Inverness

Friday night munro bagging off the A9. Not the most scenic route, mainly on tracks. Awesome outing, finished post 10pm in still plenty of daylight. Very showery and flipping windy on the tops.

Much better. Knee pretty bad all day at work, but may just because I got the scar tissue stung last night. Legs & calves really knackered on the uphills and quite tired generally, but a lush evening and just kept plodding along. Wasn't planning on going so far up Dumyat but thought it would be rude not to in the end.

Explored path up the river from Bridge of Allan to Dunblane. Concrete and nettly so a bit crap, and I ended up following a dodgy narrow steep overgrown path so then bailed out via farmer's fields. Knee pretty poor, was really bad all day at work, but didn't have many meetings so was sat down most of the day.
