Quick nip around Dumyat. Started from the lake car park to cut down on climb after yesterday and try and do some higher intensity flat running but think that was asking for a bit too much too soon. Found a new track through the forest they've chopped down which was nice, round the lake then couldn't think of anything more imaginative then going up Dumyat. Lovely views on the descent and think I've finally pieced together which peak is Ben Lawers/An Stuc on the skyline which is nice.

L shin atually very good, did a lot of rolling/stretching this weekend. r knee not so great though from yesterday, just sore.

Great end to a great weekend.

Loch Etive Munroes (4) with Sarah - Meall Nan Un, Albannaich, Glas Bheinn Mor and Aighenan.

Lovely day out in Loch Etive in gorgeous sunshine and still wind. Way overdressed in tights so legs roasting the whole way round. Steady climb up from basically sea level to the first munro seemed to go on for an age. Once onto the ridge proper we were treated to great views North over to Ben Nevis /Mamores South to Ben Cruachan and West out to Sea. Quite an unforgiving ridge with deceptive drops between the lumps adding up to a lot of climb. We were meeting Joe (birthday boy) and Hazel for tea in Glen Coe so had to drop the Ben Starav to avoid being way late. Cue a slightly stressful whizz from the last munro down to the car.

A truly great day out!

A bit sunburnt though doh as I forgot my sun hat.

Body wise R knee was sore on first climb but warmed up thereafter, L shin tugging away but only going slow so don't think I'm damaging it.

thought I'd try to re-acquaint myself with Dumyat. L Shin pulling quite a bit from the off and R knee nae great either so didn't go too silly and scrapped any vague ambition to go all the way to the top. Lovely evening though. Leaving work at a reasonably early hour and life all good.

really enjoyable plod round Falkirk Wheel. A bit frustrating at times as I just couldn't seem to get into the map and was often confused by the vegetation. Lost quite a bit of time at #5 where there was no flag, run around a bit before a lady kindly found it for me.

then on the way to #9 was running across the field, heard a patter of hooves and before I knew it 15 cows or so were running at me across the field. eek (cue spike in HR). thankfully they were scared of the random hissing sound that I started making, but unfortunately they just piled into the wood by #9. Cue a lot of faffing trying to move the cows out of there... then more inquisative cows at #10...

rest of course lovely :-)

Orienteering 34:09 intensity: (1:37 @1) + (9:43 @2) + (21:49 @3) + (1:00 @4) 5.34 km (6:23 / km) +35m 6:11 / km

collecting some controls. used my stealth to avoid the danger cows.

trot out after work. work life balance returning :-) R knee feeling a bit sore but L shin seems to be a bit better than it was at end of last week - think all the rolling I've been doing is having a good effect.
