DIY Munro Marathon Day 2.

Was expecting lovely blue skies and sun this morning but unzipped the tent at 6am to find midges and low cloud. Very quick packing tent away given the midges so off before 7am.

Massive slog up first climb but cool in the cloud until we climbed out of the inversion and into the baking sun. Stunning views back the clouded-out valleys. 8am and sweating buckets - was thinking how I was going to survive as it warmed up... thankfully clouded over a little after 9am. Taking it steady on descents for Sarah but tbh my legs were hardly feeling great.

All in all great weekend and concept will be repeated!

DIY Munro Marathon Day 1 with Sarah- South Side of Loch Mullardoch.

Amazing sunny and clear weather and views cruising the ridge. Had initially planned a 35km route but after 13km/3hours/it being 4pm we cut short from Carn Eighe. Really tough work along the ridge in the heat with a much heavier rucksack than normal MM.

5 munros done. No knee issues really but pace was kind.

Followed by wild camping at the W end of Mullardoch on some not-so-uncomfortable grass, not a sole in sight, just some footprints of cows and deer.

knee hurting even sat down at desk at times Weds/Thrus which is pretty annoying so combined with late nights in the office stayed off the running until back in Sunny Scotland. Lovely plod out, but soreness of knee abated thrugh the run. excited about weekend up north.

in London so plod round hyde park. thankfully open in the evening at this time of year so no security issues. knee was pretty crap and had to stop to stretch it out. knee really doesn't like the posh chairs the Paddington office has.
