Run out from lunch stop with Sarah (for a bit) and Lucy.
Gorgeous views all around. Some good snow on the way up to first chalet (2300m) but got up fine. Lovely run down snow fields but tough rock to kinder contouring(ish) paths. then did a good out and back with Lucy, some 6 euro coke at 2000m then a beautiful descent down to Argentieres.

Chamonix Day 1
Up to Col De Balme. Roasting for all the first part of the climb. Calves quite tired but just ground it out. loud cleared to give fantastic views. Staggered our start with Sarah and Hazel so we got to the top at ish a similar time then we all ran down together which was lovely.

Harvester relay day leg
Can't think why, but this went rather well. Was a bit worried that only finishing the working week at 5pm Sat, driving straight down and a few hours sleep would have forked me over mentally, but seemed to be concentrating from the start very well, remembered how to do this orienteering thing quickly.
dark to begin with, but was getting light from 20 mins in and proper light for the last bit. made a few small wobbles in the quariers, nothing big.
running wise didn't feel terribly unfit despite how I was feeling during the week training. didn't feel fit but was able to attack second half of course a bit more once a bit lighter.
Fastest 5th leg (a faster 3rd leg in the dark but shhhh).
won overall, due to some solid night legs followed up by 3 of the fastest last legs, and some unfortune on FVOs part, who put a lot of thought into whether to formally protest on a potentially ambiguous control, but in my view took the right and considered response not too. a nice and much better way to deal with things than the rants that seem to blight events some times.
just the JK relays to win now.......

nip up monument. really enjoyable, even had a bagpiper up there. still extremely mentally tired from a punishing but rewarding week at work (casual 62 hours)
