pines parkrun. felt a bit groggy to begin with but soon woke up. Guy shot off the front leaving me and my cani cross friend (who I've only just beaten last few weeks after closing him down once his dog gets tired). He was about 50m in front after 1km when his dog stopped for a crap haha then I was on my own for the rest, questioning why I got up early to do this... soon over though and continued the progression of knocking 5-10s off each week. Canicross-er came in a minute or so after me with poo bog in hand. classic. I have a harness on order for Brothers collie so looking forward to that. knee better than last week gps playing up for some reason

Was thinking at the weekend that I shouldn't constrain myself to the BankofEngland-Tesco-Travelodge-Gym half mile square during the week so conjured up a plan for an explore of Epping forest. A bit bizarre taking a tube to go running but hey.

Nice route from Buckhurst Hill, with my hand drawn sketch map just about getting me through. Extremely quiet in the woods, only saw a handful of people and no dogging-related activity. The tracks were very hard on my knee/shins though and I seemed to be moving not that slowly compounding things. My knee has been pretty crap today but think the run out helped it.

Saw an owl, lots of deer, couple of foxes and a dog.

Thankfully managed to get back out to Loughton for the tube back with no issues.

so in fresh but hopefully not so shortlived bid to improve my knee I'm going to try to learn about knees and how to run properly. Got the "anatomy of running" on mail order and thinking of ordering the book about the pose method. any other suggestions comrades?
