shoes: Winter boots (Zamberlan)
Cracking day out doing two munros north of Loch Cuaich.
Bought a full on set of winter gear last night, crampons, boots bla bla so hoping to test them out. Snow lying down to 600m maybe, but sadly not frozen even at 1000m, doh. The ridge walking was pretty tough going through the drifts. Quite a trod to start with, but then I overtook 3 out of the c4 people that were making them and I returned the favour.
New winter boots were quite painful on the R achilles to start with, but I think I wasn't walking as you're meant to in winter boots. Eased in a bit once I'd got the hang. Pain in my R front foot and achilles though towards the end but these boots seem to fit nice and snug. My left foot is fine though :-)
Some refreshing and nearly quite exciting river crossings to finish.
