Craeg Maegaidh Ridge.

Have wanted to do this for a while. Lived up to my great expectations. First two hills quite tough going underfoot (especially with my worn down tread on shoes), but once on Craeg Maegaidh the going was very fast and pushed along by the tailwind. Met some lovely scottish fellas on the first hill who seemed to think I was mad for attempting the whole ridge.

Had a bad patch 2/3 of the way through where I couldn't understand whether I was dehydrated / tired / hot / cold but seemed to get through it.

I walked the climbs but shuffled the flats / downhills faster than I planned to, just got a bit carried away but body seems in good nick. Had a strange pain in my left hip to start with. R achilles a little sore at times but R knee seemed pretty good. So enjoyable to be out in the hills with little pain vs all the work recently.

cycle back to the car. was dreading this as it was into the headwind but was actually fine, just a bit tough. car drivers were giving me loads of room, a world away from my london cycling commuting memories.

FVO orienteering around Doune, really enjoyed it. Thanks Lewis.

Maybe second time proper running in new trainers with insoles so took it very steady (also forgot shorts so jogged round in my walking trousers)

Note

Great trip to Arran at the weekend. My knee was quite sore throughout though and sore at work too. As part of the desk move at work I've lost my original chair somewhere which seemed to suit my knee, damn.

Would defo recommend Arran - really good scrambly hills and great views.
