Lovely frozen shuffle around 2 Corbetts (Meall na h-Eilde and Geal Charn)

-3 at the house but there was an epic inversion going on around Loch Arkaig which dropped the temp further.

Once climbed out the inversion was a lovely temp with the sun just about getting above and over the Nevis range. Sunny and blue skys throghout. Just a lovely morning crunching through the frozen terrain and not falling in any bogs!

Tried out my VJ bolds in the hills for the first time and they were a bit of a revelation. Ground totally frozen so the dobs gave good grip and much better than over-spikes which tend to be a bit overkill for a frozen path. Why did I not think of using dobs in the winter before.....

Body wise achilles sore from Wednesday and could notice it all the way round but was protecting it and don;t think I made it any worse.

Saw lots of deer but no humans.

Night O @ Uni/Hermitage.

Awesome fun as always.

Brutally fast at the start and was a bit toasted round the first loop and kind of died a bit in the woods. Round the first loop with Schmint-dog and EUOC-er (Thomas). I was definitely the slowest but generally kept up with reading the map and some good route choices. Managed to nip out of the gaffles at #11 in the overall lead, soon to be gobbled up!

Some pretty suspect bearings tonight, my compass just didn't seem to steady itself. Was searching the map for a staple but must have just been my orienteering.

Body wise it will all be sore tomorrow. R knee felt OK round after being dodgy at center parcs and achilles / plantar could be felt going round but not majorly bad.

This night O series is giving me motivation to think about training a bit more properly (not yet translated into action yet but more likely post freedom on 13th December.....)
