usual stuff @ fort william. cranking up the 90s dance classics. I can still feel my foot from yesterday, not painful, but not gone away. had a little tweak from R achilles when doing first calf raise, but happyish after that.

Cracking area, course and event. what orienteering should be like.

Pretty clean, slight wobble on 13 but otherwise just cruising round enjoying the terrain and views, trying hard up hills, a bit cautious down the hills with foot.

Could feel foot a little bit on some downhills but hasn't flared up post event. Spongey underfoot.

Hopefully the last recce around Kings Park before 19th Feb.

Checked all sites. Been making a few map changes for new/moved bunkers (grrr!). Lots of golfers out today despite weather but thankfully avoided ball to face.

Had a pre run around the first bit of the course and very nice in my biased view. Will be a bit harder at night.

Nice to get out for consecutive days running, even if slow and chilled.

Secret Orienteering #2

Turned into a bit more "adventure" orienteering at times. Reckon I went through some bits of forest that I bet no human has walked in before, and probably never will!

Bit of a longer run than Monday, and foot all good. Usual grumble from R knee but did run c3km on hard tracks in one go.

A bit wet and wild oot! Managed to ford the main river without getting swept away.

also lots of crawling through small gaps in the eaves today insualting for a few hours. will be sore tomorrow!

3rd day of skiing in 2020. Tough scottish skiing. Runs advertised as "well groomed" but most were a mix of deep powder and natural hazards. Great fun and the breezy / visibility conditions added to the challenge. In the Alps I get sunburnt, scotland get wind burnt.

Must have fallen over about 10 times, many others taking tumbles all around too. First run I did was near-whiteout and involved inserting my face in snow a few times ;-)

Up track. Chilling out the pace a bit on downhill given foot. Think this is the first run for a month. Quite a few cm of snow underfoot which cushioned things nicely. Snowing quite a bit from above. No after effects so far. Loving life.
