Plodding 3:00:00 [2] 13.0 km (13:51 / km) +1000m 10:00 / km
shoes: Inov 212 #8

2C from Glen Scaddle

4am alarm was a bit brutal after struggling to get to sleep the night much earlier than usual. Dragged myself out of the tent just before 5am and off I went. (early start was to get back for building work at the house, but alas they didn't turn up).

Proper dark at 5am, can't remember what it's like to be proper dark. Pleasent morning with still wind and relatively warm (well about 10 degrees)

Cracking morning for it though. Could make it the skyline from 6am from the top of the first Corbett and could tell the sunrise was going to be a cracker and it didn't dissapoint. Summitted the second Corbett with sun rising just behind Ben Nevis.

Defo need to keep doing more of this silly stuff.

Knee felt pretty good going round this.
8 AM

Cycling 1:00:00 [2] 12.0 km (12.0 kph) +150m

cycle back down to Car.

Massive faff ensued when I realised my pannier rack had been shaken so much two of the bolts had fallen out on the way up! so had to do some dodgy reallocation of remaining bolts to prioritise the critical ones. Thankfully it wasn't midgey else this would have been a nightmare.

the track was still very bumpy

Cycling 1:30:00 [2] 12.0 km (8.0 kph) +200m

cycle up Glen Scaddle to camping spot

Quite eventful cycle.

Massive faff when I met oncoming heard of cows being driven up the narrow road. I got quite a bit out of the way off the track but I still spooked the cows, some of which refused to come past me. some darted off into the bog. Farmer wasn't impressed, but was funny watching him use his land rover to shunt them past me.

Once past the farmhouse the track got so bumpy, so so bumpy. don't think I've ever been on a bumpier track for so long. Was dreaming of the Linn of Dee track.

I was originally flirting with the idea of doing one corbett on the night but this was binned in favour of some iplayer and an early night.
