Glean a Choillich Munroes

Successful return after having to bail due to snowed out ridge in Mid March.

Weather forecast to close in, so an early start. I thought I was keen at 630am, the girls next door left just before 6). Probably only managed 5 hours kip in the end

Very runnable with trods most of the way. Only smattering of rain, but wind did pick up later. Knew I was on for a c3 hour, so put a bit of effort on last hill to get up and down to the hostel under 3. Really good fun along the knobbly ridges and putting a bit of effort in.

Legs and R knee joint a bit sore but hard to disentangle all the aches.

Back at the hostel for 10am for some pasta brunch.

Back to reality

Rain and wind slowly arrived, which pleasingly justifed the early start for the main hills. Just walked as fatigued. Drifted off and plodded along and before I knew it I had Claunie in sights. Knee was a bit sore on descents.

To the Hostel

Great evening for it. Toasty.

Knee quite sore first km but then seemed OK so pursued with running.

Followed by an evening in the Glen Affric Youth Hostel. A great experience, immaculately tidy, flushing toilets and running water, even had a shower/rinser and only 8 of us in total so quite social. Just about remembered how to talk to new people. Solar panels and Wind turbine, but not sure it was really that Eco as advertised as they just seemed oversized for running the lighting and ring circuits, iwth all the heating and hot water coming from Coal!

Hmmmm my knee wasn't great for first 1km but then warmed up and seemed OK so I kept going, feels like it might be getting a little more sore in last few run or two so got to keep watching. doesn't help that I'm getting less slow now and the paths are bone dry so not much cushioning.

in other news, it was a lovely run round and can't beat a good flyover by a fighter jet.

Run up track

R Knee not great straight away and painful on road inside, but then loosened up and I was giving it some by the end back along road. Enjoyed
