QOC Wheaton Red. Recovering from a 2-week cold, I was out to take it easy. But it turned out that jogging to the attackpoints and walking from there was a really reliable strategy. I walked with Florence to her #1, on the way to my #1. so that was a little slow. After that, everything went just fine, until #14, for which I have no excuse except tiredness, leaving 4 minutes on the table on that control.

Big thanks to Nadim and Jon for their map updates. This version of the Wheaton map is a huge improvement over the last one. Finally the map matches the terrain. I loved it all the way around the course.

Field work 30:00 [3] 1.5 km (20:00 / km)

Control pickup. Drove with Addie to the dog park, picked up the water control, then went north and got the 5 controls between the two big trails. Cold feet. Turns out this meet was really wet, and it was hard to avoid the ground water. It's odd, because it was all due to snow melt and mud, and not mapped water features.
