Friday Mar 12 #

Note

Got the first dose of the Moderna vaccine today. I know people who had to drive out of state, but I walked about 20 minutes.

Road running 37:47 intensity: (15 @0) + (14 @1) + (12 @2) + (36:55 @3) + (11 @4) 4.34 mi (8:42 / mi) +40m 8:28 / mi

3.7 miles plus 6 strides. I ran the strides on a track-sized loop nearby my house, but it wasn't as flat as I thought it was going to be. Still, it was nice not having to slow-jog back to the start. It's pretty hard to find a flat stretch of road around here that's not full of cars and/or people.

What a day! 60s with some cloud cover at noon. I ran a loop to the Rock Creek trail and back, just over 5 miles, then 6 strides added another mile and felt fine.

PWFP Pine Grove Green course. A good run marred by one terrible control. I committed the same error I complained about last time, and headed from 7 to 6 instead of 8. Then once I discovered the error I lost track of where I was and ran up the wrong stream. I figured it out, but by that time it looked better to go out to the road and back in. 20:00 on what was probably a 6-minute control.

The day was chilly to start, but lots of sun and really nice for running. There was great visibility in the woods, but the vegetation mapping needs work (which is getting done!). A lot of downed trees in areas I didn't expect. Of course, some of that was my own fault, for getting so far off course.
