Orienteering 1:02:09 [3] ***

Red - 5.7 km 72 m climb
Red course at Rotary. Good course. Glad I went out early and avoided the rain. Felt good through the woods but wished I had my spikes...the rocks were pretty slippery. A few bobbles...#4 I came up on the hill to the north but then could see it...a little harder getting there through the brush and rocks. #10 should have gone east of the open area instead it ended up being an out and back. #13 I went straight to the trail intersection but then thought I should just go through the woods instead of following the trail around but then got a little distracted and slowed down. Should have ignored the trails...

Orienteering 18:19 [3] ***

Sprint - 2.2 km 20m climb
I know the park pretty well since we do a 3 day trip here with kids from school so I knew where all the controls were before I got there. It kinda takes the fun out of it. Dad beat me by 6 seconds!! But I did run the red course before I did the sprint and Dad didn't. Hesitated a little on the way to #6 when I came to the open area...debated going up the hill but then didn't.

Stopped at Cobbs Hill on my way from school to swim practice. Ran around and around the nice patch of trails.

Got up early and stopped at Durand for a run on my way to school. Didn't eat breakfast before and wasn't sure how the run would go, but it all worked out fine. Good to know for next week.
