O at Lebanon South. Okay race. Majority of it pretty clean, but when I made mistakes they were way too big. Lost about 1min at #3 (was about 10m away from it, but couldnt see it from above), then lost another min or so at 8 (got sucked a bit far down the re-entrant), then a bad mistake at #17- took the lower route and everything made sense, but couldnt find the control. Eventually found it about 50m above where I had originally been (Feel like the mapping here is a bit dodgy- way more rocks+cliffs in reality...)
Had the lead at #16, but then ended up giving the win to Roarkis with my mistake.
Good to do some proper orienteering, nice course and nice area (just a bit on the rough side in the open areas). Legs also felt better than I thought they would :)

Sanlam peace trail. Started near greenpoint, straight up towards signal hill (300m climb), all the way around signal hill on the trails (some really nice ones!). Then did a loop down into the glen (near camps bay) and then turned around and all the way up to the top of the jeep track on Lions head (400m climb), then down along the spine to the top of signal hill, then a bit around on the tar and then down past the cannon and a bit more trail and then down to the finish the same route we came up.

Some pretty big names running today, with 2 members of this years SA trail team present (Thabang Madida and Megan Mackenzie) as well as a few others who've previously been on the team.

Aim for the race was not to get 'chicked' , and managed that at least, but I probably didnt push myself hard enough. Let a couple of people who I normally beat, beat me today.

Started off reasonably conservatively and only really started pushing once we started descending from lions head (10km in+ mostly all downhill from there, so probably should've pushed a bit more on the way up).

Started in about 15 place and then managed to pass 2 people on the climb up towards lions head, then another guy along the spine, then the one lady at signal hill (Katja Soggot)( and was then right behind Meg Mackenzie (was confused how they got ahead of me, but found out afterwards that they'd taken a short cut), Stuck with her for a while+ passed another guy going down signal hill tar road, but then managed to take a wrong turn just after the cannons and managed to lose about 2min and 3 places.. Caught 2 of those places back on the descent to the finish, but couldn't catch the other guy.

So not really sure of my final position, but I'd guess just outside the top 10 (15min down on the winner, (13 if you dont count the time loss).
.....edit... 12th overall

Legs probably weren't 100% recovered after TMC, but really didnt feel too bad. Dont think I pushed myself very hard though..

Staying in Greenpoint ahead of tomorrow's race (free accomodation, food, entry+ vest and jacket- feeling pretty cool.) Just not so sure how my legs will feel racing again after last week.

Along the main road to the promenade, along the promenade until the lighthouse (pretty cool running right next to the sea with the sun starting to set), then back through greenpoint park with 5 strides along the way.

Keeping it as short as possible. Just did a few laps of the track. Legs feeling a bit better (actually less sore running than walking)
