Keen to get on the mountain again. So from Camps Bay, up to the pipetrack and then had planned to go up Diagonal, but must have taken a path too early+ ended up going up another route (Blinkwater ravine). Its supposed to be closed, but was in decentish condition (besides being quite overgrown at the beginning) and I think is only really an issue after big rains. Was really nice to do something different+ go up a less 'commersialised' route. Then across, down kasteels (felt a lot shorter than the last time I came down- TMC- helps not to be cramping in every part of your body) and back to the house all while admiring the awesome sunset+ golden light :D

The views from the top were absolutely awesome in the evening light- I need to go up at that sort of time more often! Anyone who ever visits cape town- best way to appreciate the mountain is a sunrise/sunset (preferably both) run/hike along one of the edges.

Think my new goal for the next 2 years in Cape Town is to try go up/down every possible 'hikeable' route. I'm sure there must be about 50 different ones? Stijn?

Down to Glen Beach with Mishka, she was pretty much on strike+ not keen to run at all (not enjoying the heat), so going was very slow. Then part of the way back up (until Mishka decided she was tired) after some swimming+reading at the beach :)

running 9:30 [3] 2.03 km (4:41 / km) +40m 4:16 / km
shoes: nike free run +2

Quick run around the nearby roads to get a bit more mileage. Pretty great running with the 12 apostles on the one side and the sun about to sink into the sea on the other!

Finished exams!! :)

Would've liked to have gone for a longer run, but had to pack+that.

Decided to do a bit of 'off trail' and see if I could get up to the contour path tiger line. Turns out you can, just very slowly.. Trying to run up a 30degree incline with loose+spongy ground is pretty near impossible.. Was fun though. Think I need to go try do some hill sessions on that section next year in preparation for Switzerland.

From the contour path, along to turnstile, down at ramp, r.mem+ down through pedestrian access (with a bit of a burst of speed on that section to try get the strava seg)

Finally back to having above 70km for the last 7 days!

"12 hill session"

Pretty cool session- nice to do something different.
Coach just told us at the start that we're going to be doing 12 different hills (none of us knowing how long the hills would be/where they were on the route).

The hills ended up ranging from about 50m to 500m (average about 200-250m) and very different gradients as well.

Pushed pretty hard from the 1st hill+ had Olaf pushing me nicely on quite a few of them, so by the end I was completely finished (2nd last one up to the summer house was absolute destruction).

Others were going on the road, but I was keen to go check out the wind (and the views) at the blockhouse (blowing pretty hard down the bottom, so was pretty sure it would be going crazy up there).

R.mem gate, then cut xc for about 1km (seriously difficult trying to run uphill through thick grass!), then up the 2nd half of hill repeat road, then up the single track to the blockhouse, a bit of a stop on top to appreciate the wind+views, then back down via ramp, trig beacon, reserve fenceline and bridge.
