Woke up to some decent weather (finally!!) and watched the sunrise+ made some breakfast+dried some stuff before heading out.
Took the jeep track down towards Nuweberg (and saw some people for the 1st time in 2days!!- some people doing a canopy zipline tour), then headed across towards suicide gorge (which looks epic- definitely need to go do that sometime!), then headed up boesmanskloof/riviersonderend. All the way along the river, crossing it multiple times, so that was pretty cool. The path however was rather non-existant and very hard to find in sections, and fynbos is not particularly fun to walk through.. had to put on my long running tights to avoid getting scratched to pieces- 1st time in my life that Ive had to hike in long pants.
Started climbing again and the path got a bit clearer, and then got some awesome views into the Jonkershoek valley. After lunch+some photo-shooting at the trailhead, I headed down into the valley, passing a number of pretty cool waterfalls along the way.
Got to the river which flows from 2nd waterfall and decided that I had to go have a closer look. Was pretty epic! A really cool kloof section to get to the waterfall and then the waterfall itself which drops about 400m down a sheer cliff!
Then along the main river towards the jeep tracks and then along the jeep tracks to just past the reserve entrance (wasnt too keen on another 10km of road to Stellenbosch, so used my phone a friend option to get a lift).
Alternated between hiking and running again.
