Sprint race at the Campus.

Nav okay, but still a few stupid mistakes and the running was feeling pretty poor...

#4 Not planning ahead and went straight out of #3 and got stuck behind the hedge.. (10secs)

#10 Didn't see the cliff until I was right at it and had to go around (10secs)

#13 1st one in the underground parking and I took a while to adjust (not helped by the eyes not yet being adjusted to the dark). Bad direction out of #12 and took a while to fix it (5-10secs).

Couple of other small hesitations, but nothing more than 10secs total. Betetr than the last couple events, but still need to be cutting out those small mistakes..

At Maretlwane.

Went for a run on on last year's SA champs long course. A lot rougher, but also a lot more technical (first half anyway) than I was expecting, which was a nice surprise :)

Taking it fairly chilled, but still making quite a few small mistakes near/inside control circles on some of the more complex areas. Some of the rocky sections really not making too much sense to me from map-ground.

12 PM

orienteering 40:55 [3] 6.5 km (6:18 / km) +222m 5:23 / km
13c shoes: Inov8 X-talons 200

SA middle champs course

Pushing a bit more than the long. Relatively clean, just messing around a bit trying to find the paths around #7 and to #8 and then just quite hesitant into/at a few controls making sure I was in the right place.

A fair amount more path and faster terrain than the long, but also not as technical..

Schools league at Summit College

Ran the Senior girls course after the event. Had updated the map, planned+ put out half the controls, so not the most technical :p

Good to actually run an O course at half decent speed though after yesterday being pretty slow..

orienteering warm up/down 6:00 [2] 1.0 km (6:00 / km)
