Stunner of a morning watching the sun come up over a cloud covered De Doorns valley.
Eventually got going and decided a first trip to Thomas hut was necessary, so dropped the bag off at Perry+ re-filled some water before heading out on the traverse across.
Missed a couple of cairns on the first ridge crossing, but fortunately weather was more than good enough to be able to see where the route should go + correct. Rest of the way was pretty easy to follow and really enjoyed the nice long, gradual (and runnable by hex standards) ridge descent down towards Thomas.
Short nap and water refill at Thomas before heading back to Perry. Bit less stop-starty this time knowing the route properly. Some seriously stunning mountains out here!
Had thought about heading to Hoare straight away, but decided the legs could do with a break and Perry would be good for the night.
