Sunday Feb 21 #

Note

Nice hike up to the waterfall from the campsite (Algeria). Ankle still pretty dodgy, but fine walking.

Climbing 10:00 [3]
shoes: BD momentum climbing

In the Cederberg for the weekend! Pretty bleak not to be running with the ankle being quite sore, but got to do a little climbing at least. Only had 1 rope and 7 of us, so mostly doing a bunch of belaying, but managed to get the 20 (Wow wow peddle) first time which was nice. Think that's my first lead on a 20. Got a little stuck in the crack (getting drawn in instead of staying outside..) and didn't feel particularly smooth/graceful, but still counts I guess :p

running 1:01:02 [3] 8.3 km (7:21 / km) +660m 5:16 / km
shoes: Salomon s-lab Pulsar

First run in the new S-lab Pulsar's. Was out in Noordhoek area, so thought I might as well do some new trails. Direct route up chappies from the Noordhoek beach parking, along the "top" and then down the noordhoek side (past the private property sign..). Along there until I hit the big fence (not expected. followed down the fenceline to the road and hit a nice fence corner (big and electrified)..

Looked like way too much of a mission to go around, so climbed one of the pines and hopped over from a branch that partly crossed it, but landed a bit badly and wrecked my ankle.. Too sore to run, so walked the rest of the way back to the car. Pretty irritating..

Asides from the nkle, a really nice run! Solid effort from the road up to the peak and then pretty cruisy on the flats+downhills. Shoes felt really nice for going fast! Bit tight around the upper part of my foot with socks on, but hoping that will stretch out a bit.

running 1:31:00 [2] 7.18 km (12:40 / km) +620m 8:51 / km
shoes: S-lab xa amphibs

Suther peak with Jono, Dyl and Caitlin. From the Sandy bay parking, up the slightly overgrown trail to the jeep, out and back to the top with the sun setting up there. Super pretty!

Then a cruise back down via the dune and to Sandy for a quick swim (as cold as usual). And a jog back through to the parking.
