Muizenberg trail race. As good as I could've expected. Feeling pretty slow and lacking an extra gear, but really can't complain too much given the last few months. Ankle still feeling quite fragile, especially on the sections of road+rough rocky descents, so just trying to be a bit careful on those.

Started out with Shaff. Siviwe and Jarryd going off the front, Jarryd gradually increased the gap as we went, but caught siviwe at the top of the 2nd climb, him struggling with some back issues. Knew there wasn't really any chance of catching/being caught after this, so just tried to keep the effort reasonable until the end. Finished still feeling fairly strong, but also don't think I would've been able to push harder, just go a bit longer. (Picking up the Ryan Sandes diesel engine thing...)

3min behind Jarryd (though he lost a min or so on a wrong turn), and about 10min ahead of Shaff.

Up to the scout hut with Steph and Roark. From cecilia up to contour, up skeleton, across the empty hely dam and to the hut.

So nice in the light drizzle! The river on skeleton was absolutely pumping, so so much fun walking up through it!! :D

Also really cool to see all the streams and rivers running into the dam. The disa one was about 15m wide!!

Pretty heavy pack, with lots of firewood.

Chilled one around Newlands with Caitlin. Checking the ankle is half okay and trying to remind the legs what running is after 2 weeks of resting the ankle. Felt okay.

Needed to get out the house, and still trying to rest the ankle a bit. Luckily remembered I still have a bicycle :p

From the digs, over the bridge, to cecilia, onto the singletrack, up to c.nek, mtb path all the way through to newlands, bike path to r.mem bottom gate, realised it was still closed, so back and through bishopscourt+bridge back home.
