With Roarkis. first time he's been on a bike since our northern farm ride before jwoc 2013. From the digd, footbridge, cecilia, mtb track to c.nek and acros to newlands forest, back through bishopscourt and over the footbridge.

From the digs, through bishopscourt and down to newlands forest, mtb trail through to c.nek and down to cecilia, then down klaasenbosch greenbelt (slightly illegal, but only realised after..) no-one around anyway. and back along the roads.

Really epic loop (clockwise) of Compassberg on the district dirt roads! Majority of the route is through nature reserves/game farms, so lots of animals, awesome mountain views and very minimal people/cars/houses (also pretty decent road by cycling standards)

Nice to get into a bit of a rhythm and cruise. km's just ticking by. Gradual uphill the first 30km, downhill the next 20km, uphill 20km and then all gradual down to the end. Last half was especially cool, with herds of wildebeest, springbok, blesbok, zebra (also reedbuck, kudu, steenbok, duiker, scrubs hares, jackal) and some massive swarms of lucusts which were both cool and a bit worrying.

With Caitlin. Up the valley to the west and then over the tops of the hills above town. Some really cool clouds and pretty rolling hills+rock formations. reminds me a lot of Nauklauft area.

In Nieu Bethesda for a couple days with the Teetons. Cycled with Caitlin from the N9 junction through to town. Cool little pass to start and then super cruisy top bit with some great views of Compassberg and a nice little descent into the really cool valley+ to town.
