Total failure. Arrived late at the start, no CDs left for my course, set off not sure if I had dibbed the start unit.
Got to first ctl, mostly on paths. Then entered the thinned forest with an unmapped road. Struggled through 2 & 3, then overshot/missed 4, realised I was into the open and decided to cut it short, punched the last 2 controls.
Shame as I had looked forward to the race. My own incompetence as I had not reset my normal technique for this - go slower with more map reading. Also, gave up too soon and there was nothing wrong with a long time in this course.
