WU lap with Tom

Running 16:56 [5] 5.0 km (3:23 / km) +19m 3:19 / km

Congleton Parkrun

Three laps of the lake. Flat but quite congested on lap 3. On my own from the start and got into a nice rhythm round the first lap. Let it slip a little on the second and then worked hard round the last lap to finish with a PB, wahoo! Legs finally feel recovered from the last week and a half of fatigue.

Running 4:20 [2] 0.9 km (4:49 / km)

No time for a WD

Okay - looks like I'm racing. Beaut of an evening and can feel the FOMO building already so got the vest on and did some laps of the park with Nath and Jardine.

Loughrigg - 5th

Just out to enjoy this one and try and get in some fun battles. Knew my quads were destroyed so just wanted to go with the flow and keep the AAC juniors behind!

Jacob Adkin, Jardine, and Dan Haworth set the early pace. I got into a nice little pack with Nathan, Sam Russell, Harry Greenbank and another runner (looked like a roadie) and we ticked along nicely up the road / bridleway. Roadie and Nathan got away a little just before the fell as Josh came back to us slightly. Legs had held up fairly well until now but the steep kicks pretty much finished them off. Nathan and Roadie got well clear and Harry and another Keswick runner (Rob) dropped me a little by the top.

Turned at the top and tried to push on as much as possible. Caught and passed Roadie pretty quickly. Then got past Keswick Rob and Harry before the bridleway. Kicked on as much as I could and held a 15 second gap to the finish.

Brilliant race, loved it! So many faces out and about. Ambleside support on the hill was pretty relentless. Cow bells and shouting all the way up.

Running 16:49 [2] 2.65 km (6:21 / km) +5m 6:17 / km

WD w/ Nathan and the Roadie (Damien). Lovely guy, up on holiday and his first ever fell race.
