Seat Sandal club champs race. Didn’t have time for my normal shake out through the day as work is pretty hectic at the moment. Spent most of the day wading in and out of the sea on the Wild West coast which sounds nice but was actually pretty grim. Almost bailed at the last minute as legs clearly still worse for wear after the weekend but decided it’d be good training if nothing else.

Set off pretty pedestrian as no one wanted to lead it out so eventually went to the front and got a little gap. Hoped to have a good gap by the col but Tom, Ben, and new Ben were not too far behind. Power walked the steep climb and the gap was probably pretty similar as we were welcomed to the atmospheric top as the mist cleared by the sound of Richard’s horn. Descended okay but not well enough to shake everyone off. Ben pulled along side at the bottom of the last 1 min ramp of pain up to the finish. Held him off with a Duncan-inspired power sprint to claim the win. Good stuff.
