Continuing my Billygoat training by section hiking the Shawangunk Ridge Trail. This section was the last flat section along the rail trail from the Basha Kill wildlife refuge to the outskirts of Wurtsboro. Some snow cover on the trail, but it beats the foot and a half of snow expected tonight.

Some running was involved, but the trail surface was pretty broken up in sections and there was quite a bit of semi-frozen slush to avoid. The next section returns to the ridgeline, but I'll probably need to wait a week or so for some decent snow melt.

I estimate 25 miles have been completed out of the 72 mile total. It will be close whether I can get it done before the Goat, even with the closed section caused by last years fire.
