Orienteering race 13:51 [3]

NOL 1 Sprint around University of Ballarat. I came 2nd to Heather by 13sec. Felt like a clean run, with no major mistakes but perhaps some slower route choices. Felt pretty good physically.

Orienteering race 41:50 [3]

NOL 1 Middle distance at Surface Hill. Made a lot of errors in the tricky gold mining detail and was pretty surprised with my 2nd behind Michaele by about a min and a half. Got into a better rhythm after the map change but made another mistake at control 18 before the last couple of controls.

Orienteering 50:00 [3]

Relocation exercise in partners around gold mining detail. Went with Aislinn and had some fun :) Mostly relocated quite quickly using the big features I could remember running past on the way and the ones I could see. Towards the end I had to keep reminding myself to focus and take note of the features as we were running along. Warm up and collecting controls afterwards.

Orienteering 15:00 [3]

Sprint training around Damascus college in Ballarat. Short control picking course to get myself into the sprint mindset before the NOL sprint the next day.

Orienteering 40:00 [3]

1st Session of the pre-NOL 1 training camp. Focussing on running speed change according to leg difficulty. 10min warm up/down. Had some really good legs and 2 small mistakes in the gold mining detail when I didn't slow down enough to read the map properly. Good session.

Orienteering 40:00 [3]

2 x short downhill control picking exercises in rocky terrain. Couldn't get any flow and kept making little mistakes in the first course and then went with Lauren G and alternated shadowing the other runner for the 2nd course. The leader would have to keep talking about what they were doing, what they were heading towards etc. Got the controls cleanly on the second exercise which was really satisfying.

Cycling 1:10:00 [3]

Went riding from my place to Indooroopilly. Figured out a way I may be able to get to Uni by riding to UQ, catching the ferry across to QUT and then catching a bus to Kelvin Grove :) Might take a while!
