To rose canyon. Time/distance are a guess bc I turned off my app to catch pokemon and apparently forgot to turn it back on. (Annnnnd hatched like 4 eggs!! So much stardust!)

Definitely more than I've been running recently, but fresh legs! The hip felt a bit better than last time and got better throughout the run. (Used some cheap ankle tape this time instead of the fancy kind I used last time, and it seemed ok.) Hopefully better enough to be able to fall without injuring myself by the time I take my first skating skills test, a week from tomorrow!

Edit: ITB sore further down, closer to my knee (but continuous w the soreness farther up). Weird. Way far away from where the swelling is, and even farther down than any of the discoloration, which is starting to get lighter anyway. Maybe it's tight or something bc of the stuff going on higher up. Hurts when I press on it but not really when I do an ITB stretch.

Perfect morning! Woke up, ran to Rose Canyon, had coffee and a Trader Joe's banana chocolate chip muffin, and now about to go work on my analysis code.

Tried running with a very light tape job first, but swelling was still hurting a lot bc of the jarring, so came back and did a much more aggressive tape job to try to flatten the bump some more, and it hurt much less! Also feels pretty normal to walk now, so I think I'm in the clear as long as I don't fall on it again :)

The one disappointment of the day was I knew I was about to hatch one of my most valuable pokemon eggs on my run, and I was really really hoping it would be a Dratini so I could power up my perfect Dragonite, but instead it was a very lame pokemon :,( But the silver lining is that there's a special event going on, and so I got extra other goodies from the egg-hatching! Will just have to wait on the Dratini candies...

Hip got more painful throughout run, so planning on not doing anything tomorrow unless it feels noticeably better or I figure out a way to tape it. Can't tell if the swelling changed at all throughout the day, but is still noticeably swollen/numb.

In other news, getting closer to seeing if my experiment has a good enough EEG signal to run! This experiment's with the more senior of my 2 PIs, and he's just as involved in research as the younger one. Probably won't hit the conference deadline I was going for, but the experiment's going well so far!

Woke up much better than yesterday, labmate who's an MD confirmed numbness is normal when there's swelling, also I think radius of numbness might've decreased throughout day. Also isn't roller derby practice bc of thanksgiving, which was good bc I wasn't tempted to go :)
