strength 5:00 [2]

Logging some of my moving as strength bc my squat and deadlift muscles were sore the day after.

Very excited about my new place!!! Still haven't unpacked yet, but it'll be good :)

Note

Went to PCP to get a referral to sports medicine for my knee and foot. (If I go to sports medicine instead of my foot doctor then I don't have a deductible, woohoo!!!) PCP suspects meniscus thing but she said she wasn't 100% sure, so hoping the sports doctor can say something more definitive. Would like to be able to do contact soon!!!

For the foot, this morning was a good morning, and I put KT tape on it (which who knows if it helps?), but am gonna keep an eye on it till the appointment.

Have to have 2 separate appointments for the 2 separate things, so knee is next Wednesday, and foot is after! But they said they'd call me if something opens up, and it's right on campus.

Roller derby 1:00:00 intensity: (10:00 @0) + (40:00 @1) + (10:00 @2)

Coincidentally so many people were sick or injured from El Paso that we did a light-contact day :D So I'd been planning to go help w the freshies, but then I did most of the regular-skater practice!!!

No knee pain, but also I didn't do any plow stops or anything that used my edges. Good that I can at least have a skating activity that feels good!!!

Roller derby 10:00 [1]

Was convinced not to go to Power Skate even though I disagreed w my doctor-friend's advice to take 1-2 weeks *entirely* off skating. (Had chalked it up to him not understanding the sport.) Thennnnnn did 10 min easy stuff to practice edges and stops outside my office, and the same inside of my knee felt funny after. So was very glad I didn't go after all! (Also the ball of my right foot was hurting, which had improved slightly after I changed my wheels, but apparently is not all the way better.)

strength 5:00 [3]

After skating, de-geared and did my 5-min "hard abs" workout that has like v-ups, modified v-ups, russian twists, reverse crunches. Meant to do back stuff but didn't.

Also related to strength: my one friend from lab had taught me how to squat and deadlift, and my new pokemon friend who is also super into boxing gave me converging advice and also fine-tuned my squat form!
