Haven't been on here in awhile, so I should summarize!!! Had a great time at Anza-Borrego, was being careful because of my super-low mileage and a months-long nagging hamstring thing that bothers me up hills, so I'd originally planned to run just the lamb and the Maze-O. But the leg and everything were feeling really good on Day 2 (hamstring crankiness from the Lamb apparently fixed by post-run advil), and the temp was warming up in time for starts, so I decided to sign up for the Brown Classic! Saw the amount of climb in the course stats and had originally planned on walking, but after jogging the first couple controls, I decided the terrain was technical enough to keep me from going too fast and injuring anything, so it was ok to keep running/jogging but walk the hills :P It turned out to be a super fun course for me, but a little rougher than I'd have expected for a brown!
Roller derby: the first portion of tryouts was last Monday, and I felt confident on my skates! We also did our 5-min lap test, which is basically a track race, and I did really well despite wiping out when passing someone. Would love to do these throughout the season, even though I'm not sure it's very relevant training for derby at all :P
