Super fun living room practice!!!! Still focusing on staying away from my right inside edge, bc sesamoiditis (managed for now). That means I can do hockey stops on my bad side (exciting) and c-cuts on my good side (bummer, but still things to get better at). My new foot massage balls came in the mail, and I used those on my plantar fascia before/after. It hurts more at the ball of my foot, but I can feel scar tissue in my right plantar fascia, so seems good to work on. Also did ice 2-3 times while skyping, plus my left outside ankle/calf had a tiny bit of weirdness a few hours after, so iced that a couple times as well. Figured it was a 3-advil night and had those before bed and felt fine next morning.
Was actually able to get pretty tired!!! Wish I'd worn my garmin/hr strap.
Stuff I did: * New basketball app with an agility drill I can do on skates. It superimposes dots on a real-time video and I'm supposed to hit the imaginary dots. * Left-footed hockey stops holding books on my hands * Side-to-side hops * Left-footed c-cuts, around a footrest/chair * Left-footed hops * 2-footed hops * Left-footed heel flips
Getting slightly more stable w side-to-side hops:
First time practicing a new skill: one-footed 180's! I'm supposed to learn to do it avoiding a blocker trying to hit me on the line. Want to focus on pointing my other foot straight back close to the ground in case I need to put my foot down--also keeping my arms from flailing and curving the rest of my body away from the imaginary blocker as much as possible. Around a shoe:
Around a chair (but go the wrong way on the way back a few times):
