Crossfit 55:00 [3]

Run for w/u, then we just attacked the legs... full squat cleans, split squats, and a WOD of 21/15/9 reps of overhead squats and box jumps. This one sucked. Hard. Big sucky sucky suckness.

Met up with BugsInTeeth and Simpy at the Rouge Hill Go station and set out on a pack raft and trek training session. This was the hike to the pack raft put in.

Paddling (Pack Raft) 1:55:02 [3] 3.22 km (35:43 / km)

I hate to admit this, but this was my first pack rafting session. I spent the first fifteen minutes in shock that an activity could suck this bad. Considering how much the boat cost, I guess I expected more than the speed and maneuverability of a pool toy. After an hour I think I started getting my groove, and we managed to stick to a whiplash pace of about 2.5km an hour.

Bit cold getting off the paddle, but with a dry shirt and some hills I warmed up quick enough. It was dark almost from the start. Good pace set by BugsInTeeth. I'd say the highlight of the night was hearing what I thought were gunshots, then about 10 minutes later hearing a cop on his radio... I was pretty convinced we were going to get eaten by crazy people.

Warmup Erg, 8 Rounds of 10x Leg Press (170lbs), 10x back lunges (10lbs), 2min on StepMill.

23:31 for a 5000m erg, then a drink break, then 1:30 on erg to see how low I could get my splits down (1:47) because the dude next to me kept trying to beat me and I wanted to school the punk (ya, I know, immature, but highly satisfying). Then onto stepmill for 15 min, base at 60 steps/min, intervals at 120 s/m, then 5min to finish on the bike.

Cycling 1:50:00 [4]

Today was a WIld Bettys destination ride at Hardwood Hills. Unfortunately, I was the only Betty to show up, along with the SUPERHUMAN trip leader. I worked my ass off to stick behind her. We stuck to middle grade trails - which still had some great curves, logs, rock piles, etc - and I managed to be on her tail for about 1:40 minutes. And then I wanted to curl up on the side and die. I think she noticed. We made it to the end of the lap and called it a day.
