MMM day 2. In traditional fashion, took the last possible start time so we couldn't get caught. Started with a cluster on Binnian, which we took the less popular route on, then a couple of controls in Annalong valley before a cluster between the bottom of Upper Cove and the top of the valley, before a longer leg across to the top of the river between Ben Crom and Doan. Took the straight route, which wasn't necessarily the best - some teams went round the Brandy Pad which seemed to be a similar time, and with our running speed we could possibly have been a good bit faster on it. Next few controls just across the bogs to Slieve Muck, and then a few nearish the Wall to get back, before a final cluster between Spellack and the north slopes of the wide face of Meelmore.
Overtook all our competition by the end of the first cluster, so we were able to relax at times and just push as hard as we felt like, knowing that we had that big buffer of time. Again today Phil was pushing it near the start but I took over the lead on the second half.
Slightly smaller lead today than yesterday - 20 minutes, adding up to a pretty respectable 50 overall. Nice to take the win again, in a year with a pretty stacked field. Also (AFAIK) make us the only people to win a 2-day MM in 2020, definitely in UK/IE, possibly the world

MMM day 1. Started at Meelmore Lodge, went up the West shoulder of Meelmore, round to the back of Bearnagh, cluster between Lamagan and slopes of Corragh, then above Annalong Butress, a couple of control picky ones to get down the valley. Sheepfold near Percy Bysshe, then cluster above Blue Lough Butress, Lamagan-Binnian Saddle, and far side of Binnian. Couple of controls on south end of Binnian to finish at Carrick Little.
First time I've ever felt like the slower person on a MM team - it's a different experience! Phil has clearly been training well and was dragging me round for at least the first half, and I started feeling a bit better on the second cluster.
Into the overnight camp with a solid 30 min lead, pretty happy with it all

testing out the new shoes, just across the border. Anglesey Mtn, Clermont Cairn, Clermont and Anglesey again. Knee feeling better although still sore, but reckon it'll be ok by the weekend
