Not a good day out.Went down to Hebden Bridge and parked at Hardcastle Crags. Had planned about 30k round the moors - started out along the valley, then up onto the south side and up Standing Stone Hill (no, I didn't see any). Headwind and driving rain the entire way made it cold, wet and generally not an enjoyable place to be.

Then a mixture of quad tracks and straight across bog/heather to the very north end of Hoof Stones Height, at which point I realised I wasn't having enough fun to do another 22k of this, so bailed north to the valley. Still had another few k of tussock tramping before reaching a track, then followed that back to the woods, and then through some nice woodland trails.

I'll just have to do my long run tomorrow instead

Another keeping-the-ankle-safe run, this time out by Hawskworth woods and back by the canal. Did some exploring in Swain's Wood, which has a nice path all the way through, and no sign at the east end, but a sign at the west end that doesn't exactly use the precise words 'no access', so I reckon it's fine

(rest day)

had a day off to rest this ankle. talked to mum who reckons it's just an old sprain that I've twinged somehow, so just take it easy for a few days, don't do anything too rough, and keep doing strengthening exercises

Trail/Terrain 1:17:25 [3] 15.42 km (5:01 / km) +160m 4:46 / km
shoes: Inov8 x-talon Nov 19

certainly one of the slowest sessions I've ever done, should have worn spikes.
3*7min, 3*3min, all between 3:50 and 4:00 pace. Hard to get much traction with the worn down x-talons, but still able to put in a decent effort

Got some pain on the outside front of the left ankle, just in front of the bone. Note sure what it is, but it's been here for a few days now. Same place has been quite clicky as well, for a longer time, so not sure if that's connected or not. Will try to chat with a physio about it at some point
