Elodie fell asleep in the afternoon, after an hour of swimming, so I took advantage to go for a peaceful plod to Callan Park and back.

I woke up a bit early, and as lunchtime will be occupied, I decided to get my run in first thing. Pretty creaky to begin with, which is why I don't like morning runs, but it was a nice temperature, with a pleasant breeze, and I gradually warmed up. Watched Balmain waking up as I ran. First the dog walkers. I saw a little bulldoggy thing with red fabric socks/shoes to protect its precious paws. Then the builders getting ready to start cutting at 7 am, on their phones outside bedroom windows or one walking around in socks. Then a council worker cutting the grass on a ride-on mower, kicking up a dust storm near the Dawn Fraser pool. A business man impatiently waiting for the 1 second it took me to pass, so that he could get into his car on Wharf Road. Then a school girl off to the morning ferry. Back home to a waiting coffee.

Through Rushcutters Bay to Darling Point. Smell of oyster beds at low tide and the clank of sheets rattling against masts. Conducting interviews at 2 pm, so I couldn't extend the run further.

Australia is through to the World Cup, and a clear majority has voted in favour of gay marriage.

After two days of rest, this was a pretty quick 10k, by my standards at least.

It was long enough to venture beyond the Botanic Gardens - though not by far, because it sure is nice not having to worry about traffic. Felt good.

Addled head. Not sure why. Made a few errors on streets - just not paying attention. We had a nice picnic at Maroubra beach afterwards.
