I got a promotion. Good for the salary. Maybe not so good for orienteering, because it comes with a bunch more responsibility, and some known people hassles.

An afternoon run in the Botanic Gardens. The first loop was uneventful. On the second loop, the Opera House Gate had been locked, so I raced back up to the Governor’s gate to get back into the Gardens. I got there just in time to beat the ranger’s car, coming to lock the gate.

Lots of people down by the water taking photos of the sunset.

running 1:00:23 [3] 10.16 km (5:57 / km) +229m 5:21 / km

Another change of scene. Across the Harbour Bridge, noisy and full of wombles, to Kirribilli.

Wednesday Jul 17 #

5 PM

running 31:30 [3] 5.01 km (6:17 / km) +83m 5:49 / km
ahr:144 max:156

Didn’t sleep enough last night. Didn’t drink enough during the day. Felt very weak from 4K, but carried on to 5k.

Tuesday Jul 16 #

2 PM

running 50:00 [3] 8.53 km (5:51 / km) +150m 5:23 / km
ahr:154 max:173

Just had enough time between meetings to get a run in. Would have happily done a bit more. Feeling fine.

Monday Jul 15 #

1 PM

running 1:03:50 [3] 10.14 km (6:18 / km) +247m 5:37 / km
ahr:149 max:173

A change of scene with a pleasant plod out to Redleaf Pool and back. On the plus side, some good hills. On the downside, the BMW tanks of Darling Point charge around the streets under the assumption that no runners will be crossing their roads.
