ECU Joondalup sprint. Lost a full minute on #4 and #5 combined because of the ambiguous mapping of the levels. On #4 I took a slightly different route choice to others, not much difference in length but it took me to the bottom level. I thought that #4 was on the bottom as well because it was in the area mapped as undercover, so I assumed it was on the lower level. Do had to backtrack and go up to the top level, then went along the top to #5 where I saw the control on the ground from the top. At #5 I was 1:06 behind Oliver Martin and I ended up only 4s behind. Rest of the course was fine, felt a bit slow running and could have been smoother through some parts but overall pretty good. 4 and 5 were very frustrating since I would have been a minute clear of everyone else without those two controls.
Having a better look at the map now it turns out that the description for #4 says lower building, so I actually went to the right spot initially.
After another look, control descriptions were different to the descriptions on the map, they had the symbol for 'lower' crossed out in pen. Seems a bit odd that that wasn't included in the briefing at the start considering slight changes to a paved area at #7 and the use of the fodder rack symbol for a BBQ were mentioned and the changes were so small they were practically unnoticeable.
