Note

Not exactly a rest day...several hours worth of hard manual labor in the form of yard work. Then several hours of work work on the computer after kiddos went to bed. NOT a lot of sleep. What's new.

Run 57:47 [3] 5.5 mi (10:30 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Trail Roc 245

Easy trail run at Broemmelsiek Park. Gotta love the cool temps! Nothing too hilly or technical here -- just lots of fun twists and turns. Plus -- plenty O' rocks...and horse doo (for an added agility element!). But overall this is great stuff and soooo close to home. Lake and park infrastructure construction is coming along!

Bike (gravel, paved and grass) 1:07:32 [3] 16.0 mi (14.2 mph)

Night ride on surrounding subdivision roads. Decided to spice it up a bit by riding every one of the little side "courts" nearly all of which end in a downhill. So I tried to take the turn-arounds kinda quick and then did a jump power interval to get back up to the main road - about 15 total.

Strength/Stretch 20:00 [1]

Strength: glut. med., VMO, and core
Stretch: foam rolling and static stretch

Bike intervals (trainer) 1:02:00 [3]

Man, this has been a tough couple weeks for cycling! Haven't even been on singletrack for a while... Anyway, did what I could tonight -- "3-2-1 intervals": Warm up, then 3 min. on, 3 min. off, 2 on, 2 off, 1 on, 1 off, you get the idea. Spin/rest for 10 min. and repeat interval sequence. Higher intensity spin for rest of hour. Super duper sweaty.

Strength/Stretch 25:00 [1]

Active desk work -- 15 min. or so of focused work stuff interspersed with "intervals" of theraband exercises, core, pushups, and dynamic stretching. Also standing on stability disk w/ keyboard in stand mode. Very effective at reducing computer monotony.

Circuit Training 1:30:00 [3]

Another Cathe Friedrich video workout. Really hard -- I will definitely feel this one tomorrow (and possibly the next day). I can pretty much handle all the leg stuff (plyos and weights) but the pushups and core -- dang! I doubt I will ever be strong enough to do it all. Sigh.
11 PM

Run 32:20 [3] 3.0 mi (10:47 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Trail Roc 245

4 easy night laps around the yard trail/gravel road to loosen up the weight-fatigued legs. Yep - I'm gonna pay for this tomorrow - sleep will be minimal tonight. Double sigh. What's a gal to do?

Note

Definitely unintentional rest day -- work, work, work!

Note
(rest day)

Kinda untintentional rest day -- major work project is ramping up so will likely hamper my ability to skip out for a run or ride during the day (and will probably require numerous late nights after kiddos go to bed). Doesn't leave many options for training! But it only lasts for several weeks every 6 months -- a small price to pay for a sweet job in an incredible location.
