Strength 25:00 [2]

Had hoped to do a long ride but one kiddo developed a serious stomach bug today and since I was headed out of town on biz the next day...just couldn't bear to abandon everyone. Plus I had tons of prep work to do and the VPN was messed up most of the day....grrrrr. So it turned into a late night and I just did some strength/plyometric moves to stay alert. Blah

Run (gravel, grass, and paved) 48:20 [3] 5.25 mi (9:12 / mi) +395ft 8:36 / mi
ahr:154 max:166 shoes: Inov8 Trail Roc 255

Run around yard and surrounding subdivision roads. How bout that -- I actually CAN run faster than 10 min. miles! Been a while. A few stretches of snow-slogging along Hwy D but otherwise pretty clear footing.

Hiking warm up/down 12:35 [1] 0.61 mi (20:37 / mi) +30ft 19:43 / mi
ahr:113 max:135 shoes: Inov8 Trail Roc 255

Just a little bitty cool-down hike. Along road then down to garden compost pile to dump bokashi bucket and back to house.

Big flock of migrating snow geese overhead -- been tons of them passing through here lately. We saw a flock of 1000+ grounded in one of the big fields on the way to son's school yesterday evening -- super cool!

Bike (trainer) 1:30:00 [3]

Good trainer session: warm-up then intervals -- 2x10 min., 2x5 min., 2x2 min., and 2x1 min. w/ 5 min. easy spin between each, short cool-down.

Strength/Stretch 25:00 [2]

Strength = hips, glut. med., VMO, pushups and core
Stretch = static - mostly quads and hammies

Run 48:39 [2] 3.72 mi (13:05 / mi) +116ft 12:42 / mi
ahr:125 max:150 shoes: Inov8 Trail Roc 255

Hamburg Trail slushfest: The high point of this run was getting my mud-encrusted shoes nice and clean. The rest wasn't so hot -- very, very unhappy tummy coupled with slopp-o conditions reduced me to snail pace and walking in a few spots. Try another day!

Bike (trainer) 1:00:00 [3]

Trainer ride -- did a few 1 and 2 minute intervals and bunch of 1-legged drills. Not very skilled at the 1-legged thing -- need to practice those!
