Prospector Trail in Exshaw with Canmore Trail Culture. This group is a lot of fun, and is getting big turnouts of great people. Violet came out from Calgary to join us, along with other people from Calgary (one was wearing a Full Moon in June race shirt). Always great to see Violet, and great to see her out again after a long rehab that she is still working through.
The group usually splits into sub-groups of Fast and Casual. I got put in charge of leading the fast group.... Gulp...
Set a good pace up the first climb and wondered if I would be able to hold it the whole time but was up for being challenged to try. Took us backward through the upper figure eight (accidentally) which became obvious because the bike stunts didn't flow this way, but it was fine for running and was probably a little more intense this way; interesting to see it in the other direction, and fun to cross the other group running the other way. It also ended up working as a good way to act as sweeps for each others' groups.
This trail is a lot of fun and seems to go on and on, but then when you finish it feels like it isn't long enough; too bad it isn't even longer.
(The trail is about 8 km or less; my total distance includes some out and back on the singletrack at the end that continues in the direction of the powerline - that seems to go on forever... probably to wherever the powerline comes from; need to look at some maps and investigate).
