Moonraker trails in Golden, Day 6 route of Singletrack6 2016
Nice climbing up CBT Mainline. Then some fast and flowing xc racy stuff that the xc racy folks loved. Some new trails that aren't mapped yet: Hempteria etc were pretty good. Some messing around on Arrowhead, etc that was mostly back and forth traversing, got a little messed up by the maps and Trailforks not matching up with reality exactly. Then climbed fireroad to get to Canyon Creek trail, but took it a little further and added the lower half of LSD. LSD has got some pretty exciting downhilling, and I walked the bike on a series of log drops that looked big but Violet was still able to roll them. Also two pitches that were just really steep, rode one, walked the other. Then it became a little less extreme as it connected over to Canyon Creek.
Always cool to ride alongside Canyon Creek and marvel at that crazy huge canyon that we did a tyrolean traverse across in Race the Rockies. We kept our eyes peeled for the last opportunity to branch left instead of dropping to the very bottom of the trails and end up on road. Didn't see the final junction we expected, or it wasn't named what we expected, so we got sucked right to the bottom, then worked our way back toward Tequila Tonight and then finished by descending CBT mainline that we had climbed at the start.
