Biking (Mountain ) 1:30:00 [2] 10.5 km (8:34 / km) +750m 6:19 / km
shoes: Instinct (2020 Feb overhaul)

West Sechelt again, to ride what would be the second loop if you added a second loop to what we did a few days ago.
Up Scatterbones, Duracell, Big Tree Trails (maybe worth dropping down to Shakecutters when Big Tree becomes a really manicured wide walking path), and then the access road.
Down Parbac (all the trail features have ramps down the backsides), Brokebac, DD, 3D, 4D, Scatterbones.

Scatterbones was a slightly technical green, the other blues were pretty easy, not very challenging but fun if you went fast. I think the VFR loop was a bit better.

Running (Trail) 1:00:00 [2] 8.0 km (7:30 / km) +100m 7:04 / km

Ran the trail to Skookumchuk rapids and back with Carbon. Nice trail, great forest with trees that are completely carpeted in moss right to the top - amazing.
Reached the rapids at the peak of the flood on an especially strong tide. Pretty amazing to see how high the waves push up thanks to the water moving at more than 20 km/hr. Just after we said how cool it would have been to have someone surfing there for us to see, a seal popped his head up to watch us and went for an amusing swirl around in the current while he just floated vertically and watched us as he floated past us.

Biking (Mountain ) 2:00:00 [2] 13.0 km (9:14 / km) +500m 7:45 / km
shoes: Instinct (2020 Feb overhaul)

Roberts Creek / B&K area between Sechelt and Gibsons

Up Black Tower, Swoopy, Dudette, Susie O Street.
Down i-Trail, Cross Over, Up ‘n’ Over, Mach Chicken, Brodie, Roadside Ribs, Ribs.

Nice climbing in beautiful forest. Sometimes cart track width or so but still pretty and forested. I-Trail and Mach Chicken were quite good and fun. Mach Chicken didn’t quite seem to be the black diamond that it is rated; maybe a dark blue at most, except one built drop onto a slightly steep slope. Mostly lots of fast swoopy curves. Brodie was littered with rocks sticking out of the ground. I would opt for something else but nothing else connects in this area. Roadside Ribs was really nice. Loamy and seemed like a newer trail, nice flow, I just wish it was longer. Ribs was decent too but Roadside was best.
Would have liked to add another loop of something but the trails here don’t seem to work well for multiple non-shuttled laps. The next best options took you on traverses toward Sprockids etc and then didn’t have a great alternative trail for looping back.

Biking (Mountain ) 2:30:00 [2] 21.0 km (7:09 / km) +800m 6:00 / km
shoes: Instinct (2020 Feb overhaul)

West Sechelt loop of access road to Phareline (a few good technical rock outcrops), De-Worm-Me, New Frogger, Neimja Main and Lower, Easy Street, Skullduggery, Beaver Pond, Baby Beaver, Parbac, VFR, Addenach, 4D.
A good blue loop. A couple of little technical spots but nothing hard.
