Sunday Apr 30

Long run today on the Burke Gilman trail. The weather was pretty good for a long run and I felt pretty good for an hour. I haven't done that kind of mileage in a long time, but hopefully I can get back to long runs once a week. Happy trails :)

Lord Hill short-O: Had probably my best run all year today. Not super fast, but I ran pretty clean; and smart and steady wins the race right? I've learned that I have to slow down a bit to keep myself from making errors. Overall, I was pretty happy with my run.
Rock Climbing (Indoor (Bouldering)) 2:00:00 [2]
Did some bouldering after o'ing. I haven't climbed in a while, so it was nice to get back in the gym. My hands fatigued pretty fast, but I was able to climb a pretty good V2 and several V1s.

Easy run. Felt a little sluggish today. Had to run into a pretty stiff head-wind for half the run, but that's what makes you tough right?

Ran my usual route from home today. Felt pretty good tonight, so I tried to pick up the picante a bit for the second half. Nice night for a run, but the trees are exploding with pollen...

Got back to playing Ultimate again. First time in about a year. We had a good turn-out tonight. We split the group into four teams. It was a fun time.

Ran around base tonight. Felt pretty good and I decided to make it a pretty quick pace. It had to rain on me after being nice and sunny all day long.

Ran my old hometown route today. Up and around the old Pasco High XC course. Pretty nice day, but a tad windy. The XC course was in real good shape, but the weeds are really gowing "like a weed" (pardon the obvious pun).

Rode "Slime", "Fred and Jons", "Woodys", "Big Tire" and portions of "Main St." out at St. Patrol after my drive over to the Tri-cities. It was nice out there, but got done just before the rain. Saw a jack-rabbit and a hawk and the wild-flowers were out pretty good.

Adventure Race race (MTB, Oing) 1:59:00 [4]
Matt, Bryan and I did the first BEAST race tonight. Started out with a mini o'ing with 4-controls and then hopped on the mtn bikes for about an hour of riding and then had about 40min of o'ing after that. Real nice evening for a race. We were perfect with the nav (Matt navigated the bike and I did the trek). Felt good to get back in the saddle again and I had a great time. Eric and Roger and all the volunteers did another fine job as usual. I felt real strong on the bike tonight and I'm looking forward to another season...

Easy run today. Nice weather outside.

Tuesday Apr 4

Did a track workout with Matt. Felt pretty good tonight.

Warmup: 4mi on trails/road/track

Interval workout: 5x100m strides to warmup. 200mx400mx200m @ ~800m race pace with equal distance jog recoveries.

Cooldown: 1.5mi easy on the roads.

Real good workout tonight, although pretty easy. The speed felt good and the smell of track season was in the air to remind me of the good ol' days.
Rock Climbing (Indoor: Bouldering/top ro) 1:30:00 [2]
Went to the climbing gym after my workout. Did some bouldering and a few top-rope climbs. I almost got a V-3- in the gym. I think I can get it next time. Felt ok climbing, but didn't climb real good.

Went out to Soaring Eagle park and did some mtn. biking. First time I've been on the mtn bike since last year. It was nice and muddy out there, but I was impressed with the park. Very nice singletrack.
Orienteering race (Night-O) 28:35 [3]2.23 km (12:49 / km) +75m 10:58 / km
Night-O meet tonight. It was my first night-O meet, although I have done night nav in adventure races. It was quite a bit different with the small markers. I had to really slow down and take my time. I screwed up on 5 and lost ~2min and then I really messed up on 9 for some reason (lost ~4min). Not a real good night, but I had a good time. It's always fun to be o'ing eh?
