Rowing (on water) 1:00:00 [3] 7.5 km (8:00 / km)

On water row in a full 8. I rowed at #3 and we were in a new-used old boat that was gifted to the club. We had to work out a few kinks with the hardware during the row. The one thing we couldn't fix was the seats had major rolling resistance that was super annoying. It's good to get things worked out though.

PS Seventy48 goes off tonight at 7pm. I'll be watching the tracker.

Note

I'm trying to recall how many 24hr rogaines that I have done over the years.

Big Muddy (2006 and 2007)- 2X
Big Tahoma (2011)- 1X (Bike and foot)
Naches (2012)- 1X
WRC South Dakota (2014)- 1X
Scablands (2021)- 1X

Looks like a total of 6 unless I'm missing some.

Rowing (on water) 1:30:00 [3]

On water row in a mens 4. I rowed in the bow seat. The water was pretty choppy most of the row but it's good to get out in those conditions. Our boat was not set very well early on, but got much better over the time we were out. I got to review some video afterwards, which is always helpful. Good row.

Orienteering 4:30:00 [3]

Scablands 24hr Continued: At HQ we got some hot food and then crashed in the back of the car. I set and alarm for a 45min nap which we ignored until the sun came up. At 5:30AM we set out on a short loop on the North map hitting 74, 52, 82, 92, 64, 109, 33, and 73. We finished about 2hrs early so we had plenty of time to pick up 103, 43 and 54 on this loop, but our feet and legs were done. Really we only used about 17hrs for this rogaine so there was plenty of time to get more points, but just were not in shape to go that long. It was interesting to travel through this terrain and see the area close up an area that I've passed countless times in the car on I-90. We saw about 10 coyotes, many deer and cows and several birds and even bird nests on the ground. We saw many bones scattered about as well. It was very challenging terrain and I hope it can be used for another 24hr event in the future.
