Downhill Skiing (Telemark) 3:30:00 [4]

Went to Titus for a half a day to learn how to Telemark! It was really tiring at first and pretty hard but I got it! I had lots of fun and I got better much faster than I expected. I was pretty impressed, getting those turns in.

Weather sucks, it snowed a fair amount last night but it's been raining/icing. The walking was hard because there was a layer of ice over the snow and it kept getting thicker, I was in front most of the time too. I was sweating and I had some weight to carry since I carried Rusty in a backpack more than half the time, otherwise he would have been destroyed.

Finally got the chance to hike Mt.Marcy! (With Anna, Aleck, my dad, Alan and Deirdre) We started right before 7 so it was dark for the first 20 minutes. It was also snowing a fair amount when we started but at about half way it got sunny. There were 2 people in front of us and once we were almost at the summit they came down and told us it was windy and cloudy at the top. When we reached the summit it was sunny and there was no wind at all! It was cold though. It never got over 15 degrees and it was definitely close to 0 at the top but with wind it was much colder. Also glad I had good boots and micro spikes because it was really wet the whole way up and really icy at the top, the conditions were pretty tough. I'm pooped now but really happy we did it, the top was pretty cool. (Pictures coming once my computer stops being dumb)

Tried to run on the train tracks but it was dark and I have really bad vision especially at night with my contacts.
