XC Skiing 3:00:00 [3]

Did a half day at Vanho. First we started on the Porter Mnt. loop then had lunch then did the perimeter. Conditions were pretty decent, same as yesterday with fast snow but the trails are a bit bumpy. Going downhill we took it really easy because I'm not trying to get any air...ever. Getting air would probably result in an unfortunate incident involving the ground or a tree, if not both. All the trails were open and there was almost no one else skiing. The first half we only saw a couple other people, maybe 6 or 7 and the second half we were completely alone the whole time. It was like having an Olympic grade ski center conpletely to ourselves! Fun stuff.

Ski day at Vanhoevenberg with Anna. We were in no rush to start and had a couple errands to run on the way down so we started at around 11.
Funny-ish story: I was looking up if there were any ski-o opportunities in the area and 2 min later Chris Frielinghaus recognized Anna and I from last December and told us that the Empire State Winter Games that are in 2 weeks at Vanho! We are going to try to go, at least for Sunday. He said there aren't usually a lot of juniors but he would love for us to go, since he knows we can ski and orienteer... and have done ski-o a couple of times. Hopefully that works out, sounds like fun to me! Alsoooo he was the ski coach for a girl on our xc and track teams at SLU and his son went to SLU, (which I remember from last year) small world.
Anywaysss fun time skiing, we may go to Cascade tomorrow since we are going down to Lake Placid again for Banff Mnt. Film festival anyway. Excited for some skiing and films and skiing films!

8x300m on the track since Anna and I (and 2 other girls) aren't racing tomorrow. Started at 60 then dropped each by around a second. Had 90 seconds rest in between each except for halfway when we got 3 min. Felt good which was a confidence boost. :) last one was tough though.
