Hiked to the top of Twin Sister Peaks. Started at 9,000 feet and went up to 11,500. Holy crud it was tough, probably the hardest hike I've done (on the way up, the way down was a breeze)... mostly because of the elevation. We went from Nebraska to 11,500 feet in a day. I think if it was in NY it would have been a pretty easy hike. About 2/3 of the way up the snow started (solid 3 feet all around), good thing we had out crampons so we made it with ease. The view at the top was so cool and it wasn't very cold since it was sunny. Spoke to a couple people who were all very nice :). The way down was a bit slippery since things started to melt and there were more people.
I was unfortunately shocked by the amount of people that thought they were going to make it to the top. 1) A lot of people started at noon, which is just stupid 2) A lot of groups were not wearing nearly enough clothes and looked like they were going LA hiking (no offense Will) and 3) A lot of people were MAYBE carrying one water bottle... just not smart. On the way down we were asked how the top was on a couple occasions and warned people about the snow and oncoming weather. Hopefully they took our advice and turned around.
Also went to Denver day of Rock, super chill little festival. Lots of fun and it was free!
