Note

Update: found the key! We walked back down the bike path and looked at a spot where I called my dad. It was in the grass! Thank the lordy.

Orienteering (Walking) 1:15:00 [3] 4.3 mi (17:27 / mi)

QOC Prince William Forest training

I came into this training a bit nervous since the last time I was in QOC territory I made lots of mistakes and DNF'd. Still not used to the very bare maps compared to Harriman.
I 100% need to wear glasses while I orienteer, no excuses about it. My contacts are just not strong enough for my blindness levels. I could not see anything in the woods so seeing the small controls was hard. I went right past a couple. Decided to walk starting at control 2 because of my limited vision. Made a bunch of silly mistakes but I'm still glad I got outside. Got stung by something nasty on my way to the finish which was unpleasant. Also I've never walked through so many cobwebs in my life.

Cycling 44:00 [3] 6.9 mi (9.4 mph)

On today's attempt at exercise my rear derailleur (the thing that switches your gears) fell off of my bike. The hanger was slightly bent, probably from traveling back home, and I figured it would be ok and I'd just test it and see how bad the shifting was. It was kinda rough and making noises but not horrible by any means. That is until I switched my front gear and my derailleur literally ripped off my bike, broke the cable and bent my chain. My bike did not work after that and we were on the bike path on the way to Alexandria with no close exits or roads in sight (other than the highway). We decided it would be fastest to keep going south towards a marina and then we could order an Uber XL. Will pushed me while I balanced on Bikey-Bike and luckily the path was mostly flat and it worked out well.

I just wanted to go on a nice easy spin after yesterday, stay away from cars and get outside but NOOOOOO the gods are out to get me. Bikey-Bike will be out of commission for a week since I had to order all new parts :( sad. Oh and I think I lost my very expensive apartment key as well so I better find that today or I'll cry. :') Smile through the pain

Running 1:00:00 [3] 7.0 mi (8:34 / mi)

So today was pretty dumb. IM OK...but I got hit by a stupid car. Literally was in the crosswalk doing my run, looking at the car and the bitch (pardon my French) just decided not to stop....At an intersection... While I was clearly in the crosswalk. It wasn't even like she had a green light. Like I said I'm totally ok, not even a scratch but it was kinda scary. Proceeded to punch her ugly car and curse her out. She was probably on her phone or something. I hope I left a dent and scared the crap out of her. Dumb idiot.

Run was fine other than that.
