Running 43:00 [3] 5.0 mi (8:36 / mi)

Run across the bridge to the Lincoln Memorial and back. Beautiful day again! I wore tights and definitely should have gone with shorts. I also have a very colorful bruise developing on my calf from smashing it into some part of my bike yesterday lol. Felt it a little bit but nothing bad. Back feels back to normal too.

Ran through the finish area of the marathon that happened yesterday. They got to run in heavy rain all morning and got none of the sunshine. There was lots of mud left over.

Side note: On Saturday I stupidly thought it was "marathon day" so we walked over in the AM to go watch the finish only to realize they were still setting it up. I was disappointed but maybe next year we can watch a little bit since a good chunk of the course and the finish are in our neighborhood.

Cycling race 44:00 [4] 4.5 mi (6.1 mph)

Superseries race in Mt.Airy, MD.

Raced women's Cat 3 ended up 4th.

Got to the event a bit early (8:30) because I didn't check the schedule and thought I raced at 10... My race was at 12 and Will raced at 11. Anyways, it was pouring rain so we sat in the car for a while and decided that pre-riding and getting soaked wouldn't be smart. It was a good choice because 20min before Will's race the rain stopped and sun came out!

Will got a flat, again. Sad. But my race went well. The mud was wet for the first lap and quickly started drying. The course had quite a bit of climb so lots of pushing the bike uphill. That definitely tired me out since my bike weighted much more than usual with all the cement-mud stuck on it. I was safely sitting in 3rd catching #2 when, of course, my chain dropped. I tried to fix it and messed with it for way too long (15 seconds?) then ran to the pit which was conveniently nearby (100m?) where Will took over. It took him a while to get it back on (30 seconds?) and by that time the woman behind me had passed me. With less than half a lap to go the 15 second gap she got on me was too much to close. Annoyed, but that's cross! Had a good time anyways and it turned out to be a beautiful and quite warm day! I only had rain gear for our drive home... Didn't expect it to be completely blue skies and 80 degrees.

Picked up a fancy Smart Trainer on the way home in Leesburg VA from some guy on Craigslist. Now spinning in the winter won't suck as badly so that's a good thing.
