I think a clever move to put me on medium course in mass start. It got the best out of me in my current fitness and was able to keep up a reasonable pace over the 3.5k course. Really enjoyable as well.
I didn't have the pace to keep up with some of the older lads, but their mistakes kept me in touch and I managed to come back in 3rd.

I think I managed weekend well, but would rather I had fitness to be competitive.

Firstly I requested not to be selected as I did no running during heat wave, but said I would go if need be, but don't expect me to be competitive.

So, I went knowing I had to pace the weekend. If I gave 100% today, I may still finish 8th and have nothing left for relay. So didn't go 100%, made a 5 min howler and ran out of steam before end doing a lot of walking uphills. Finished 8th, 10 mins back on 7th, so I think a clean 100% effort would still have been 8th.
